Dicor metal RV roof coating is brilliant white to provide a superior reflectivity; thereby, lowering interior temperatures. NOT recommended for EPDM rubber or TPO roofing. Arctic white, 1 gallon can covers 200sq. feet. Requires 2 coats. A perfect high-quality product for mobile home metal roofs.
All rust should be removed with a brush or steel wool. The area where the rust was removed should be primed with Dicor's metal roof primer. Typically the whole roof does NOT need priming, just the areas that had rust spots. Lap sealants should be applied 2 weeks before applying the coating.
If the roof has been previously coated with an unknown brand of coating, remove as much of the old coating as possible. There is no guarantee that this product will properly adhere to the old coating or if the old coating will continue to adhere to the metal roof.
For use on metal RV roofing (NOT RECOMMENDED FOR EPDM RUBBER, TPO ROOFING OR FIBERGLASS) Dicor Elastomeric RV Roof Coating protects and beautifies metal, aluminum, steel and previously coated RV roofs. Dicor Elastomeric RV Roof Coating is formulated with 100% Acrylic Elastomeric resins to form a rubber-like coating that will expand and contract with movement of the roof. Requires two coats for adequate protection at an application rate of 1 gallon per 200 sq. ft. per coat.
Remove all loose dirt, oil, rust, chalk, mildew, loose coating or other contaminants, which would prevent maximum adhesion of the fresh coating. If chalk remains on a previously painted roof, repeated washing may be necessary. Thoroughly rinse with water and allow to dry completely before proceeding. Be sure all surfaces are sound and clean, and all rust has been removed down to bright metal, using mechanical methods such as wire brush, sandpaper or steel wool. Prime clean rust removed areas with Dicor Metal Rust Inhibitive Primer RP-MRRIP-Q. Seal all fasteners and around all roof protrusions and vent mountings (vents, lander stanchions, etc.) with Dicor Lap Sealant. Seal all joints and roof seams with Dicor Coating Ready Cover Tape RP-CRCT-4-1C.
Note: Metal RV Roof Coating is for use on Roof Surface only. It is recommended to cover and protect the exterior sidewalls as well as front and rear caps of the RV with plastic sheeting to avoid the coating sticking to surfaces other than the roof. If coatingc omes in contact with any surface other than the roof, wash it off immediately.
Directions for Use:
Apply, un-thinned, at the rate of 200 square feet per gallon, per coat. For maximum performance, two coats are required. Apply each coat at right angles to each other by brush or roller. First coat must be dry before second coat is applied. Under normal conditions of 70°F (21°C ) and 50% relative humidity, the second coat may be applied within 1 to 2 hours at the same rate as the first coat. In order to prevent any chance of “wash off” of freshly applied coating, do not apply at temperatures below 50°F (10°C), or when rainfall, cold, darkness or high humidity are expected within 4 hours after application. During these 4 hours, at least 2 hours should be of direct sunlight. Allow 24 hours for full cure.
Clean brushes, tools and other equipment with soapy water immediately after use. Dried film is difficult to remove from any surface. If coating is subjected to rain, before it has properly dried, and wash off occurs, it is necessary to immediately wash stained surfaces with soapy water to prevent staining.
Do not take internally. Close container after each use. Use with adequate ventilation. Use protective clothing to avoid contact with fiberglass, skin or eyes. keep away from children. Do not allow product to freeze.
